Feel Anything Yet?

Harold Camping is at it again.  Remember him from last May 21 when he said the end of the world was at hand?  Well, he made a teensy miscalculation at that time, so he upped the date of the Rapture to today, Oct. 21.

“Thus we can be sure that the whole world, with the exception of those who are presently saved (the elect), are under the judgment of God, and will be annihilated together with the whole physical world on Oct. 21,” he says on the website.

I like this little poem (courtesy of Christopher Hitchens) that explains it all for us:

We are the pure and chosen few
And all the rest are damned
There’s room enough in hell for you
We don’t want heaven crammed.

    Hi,
I can’t wait to hear what excuse he will come up with this time. :)

Considering that I just shelled out a king’s ransom in Xmas holiday air fare and I’ve begun purchasing presents, if he’s right this time, that’s one way I can escape paying those bills. This kinda works for me.

Crap, I didn’t realize today was Rapture Day, part 2. I meant to run up all my credit cards before the world ended. Guess it’s too late now.

Sometimes it seems as though we are in hell with all of these crazies running around with us. I think that they would be very surprised to realize that they are right down here with all of us…………..

But this time around, Mr. Camping left himself an out – he claimed that the “end” would mean different things to different people. In my case, it was the end of eating the Grilled Meatloaf sandwich at the Falcon Restaurant in town. It was awful. Awful and tasteless. Kind of like Mr. C. himself.

Love Hitchens! And, Mr. Camping, the end is far.
