Texas GOP Rep. Randy Neugebauer was heard calling Rep. Bart Stupak “baby killer” on the floor of the House last night.
Today he tried to explain that congressional faux pas away by saying he was actually referring to the health care reform bill as “a baby killer.”
Yeah, sure.
Either way, he’s wrong. (Don’t confuse him with the facts.)
This is for you, Rep. Neugebauer:
we have John Boehner. he’s a ‘charm school graduate’ version of Neugebauer. my condolences…

I heard about this and was having a really hard time understand the baby killer thing, because isn’t Bart anti-abortion? Or am I confusing him with someone else? Regardless, I read a very good NY Times piece on all the horrible name-calling going on (racial epithets, etc) and it boggles my mind. It’s just so hateful.

Yes, Stupak is anti-abortion, but since he agreed to accept Obama’s executive order stipulating abortion wouldn’t be federally funded under the health reform bill, apparently this Right-wing whackjob thought he was selling out (or something.) Civil discourse has all but disappeared and I blame most of it on the fact that the Right refuses to acknowledge Obama’s legitimacy as president because of the “birther” thing and because they just can’t get their heads around the fact that we have a black man as Commander-in-Chief. Very disturbing…..
