Trump, the Abe Lincoln of Palm Beach

Donald Trump said “there’s nobody that’s done so much for equality as I have” and unequivocally renounced the support of white supremacists on Tuesday.

Trump’s remarks came in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” days after his apparent failure to disavow former Klu Klux Klan leader David Duke in an interview Sunday with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

“There’s nobody that’s done so much for equality as I have. You take a look at Palm Beach Florida, I built the Mar a Lago club, totally open to everybody. A club that frankly set a new standard in clubs and a new standard in Palm Beach. And I’ve gotten great credit for it,” Trump said. “That is totally open to everybody.”

From The Daily Mail:

To join the club, members pay a non-refundable $100,000 plus $14,000 a year in fees. The roughly 450 Mar-a-Lago Club members pay for dining and shows and $1,000 and up per night to stay in 10 suites or in additional cottages Trump has added to the property.

I’m sure the Romanian workers he hired appreciate the openness.

  1. That Trump would say, in any context, “there’s nobody that’s done so much for equality as I have” speaks volumes about his ego and uselessness about history.
It also says a lot about why Trump’s Secret Service detail removed a group of black students at Valdosta State University. The event was taking place on the university campus but the students were told “This is Trump’s property”.

  2. Off topic … sort of … but that’s just how I roll with your blog! Hope you don’t mind! 😉

My husband showed me a link to a political quiz. It’s interesting. I learned some things … chiefly that I side 82% with Bernie! Would have never thought this but I knew I was no chump for Trump and I wasn’t!!!! Whew! I do have a brain.

Anyway, here’s the link for all you risk takers out there. It takes a while to complete … you can expand the “other stances” answer and it will give you an even wider selection of choices — this helped me answer this quiz more accurately and obviously more socialistically too! Holy cow!

Okay. Your turn!
