“Farm Products, Immigrants, It’s All the Same to Me.”

From the Washington Post:

“If we are able to make the deal with Mexico, & there is a good chance that we will, they will begin purchasing Farm & Agricultural products at very high levels, starting immediately,” Trump said in a tweet. “If we are unable to make the deal, Mexico will begin paying Tariffs at the 5% level on Monday!”—-Donald Trump

He sent his tweet from Air Force One as he was returning from a trip to Europe. It was not clear why Trump was suddenly tying the tariffs to trade issues rather than to Mexico’s ability to halt illegal immigration to the United States, which is what he said last week when he first leveled the threat.

Better Get That in Writing, Donnie.

From Politico:

After long promising Mexico would pay for a giant border wall, Trump is now saying the United States will initially pay for the wall and Mexico will be paying its northern neighbor back at a later date. In the speech, the GOP nominee proposed a bill that would have the federal government fund the creation of his border wall “with the full understanding that the country of Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such a wall.”

Numero Dos: Virtual Paintout Mexico

The month of December is quickly winding down so I thought I would submit one more painting to the Virtual Paintout for Mexico.

This painting is the Apatlaco, Iztacalco, D.f., area in Mexico City.  The street was an amazing feast for the eyes, with street vendors on both sides of it (and down the middle of it, too) along with shops of all kinds.  This shop was a “unisex” barbershop which was graced with a beautiful bouganvillea bush.

My entry is for the area called Stand de Tiro.  As before, you can view all the entries for this month and past months on Bill Guffey’s great website.  Just click on the link above.  While you’re there, click on any photo to see an enlarged view.
