The Eyes of Texas Are Myopic

Yessir, nobody can say that us Texans aren’t observant, boy howdy.  Here is the absentee ballot that’s been used in Atascosa County for months with no complaints from anyone until an absentee voter living in Japan happened to notice one teensy, tiny thing wrong with it.

The flag pictured on the ballot isn’t from the Lone Star state.

It belongs to the South American country of Chile—now deservedly famous for the amazing rescue of 33 miners trapped underground for 70 days.

“Apparently the insert has been used for some time without anyone (voters and staff) noticing,” Troy Knudson told the Austin American-Statesman newspaper. “I guess it’s funny in some way, but my initial reaction was more disbelief that no one had noticed.”

The Texas flag—

The Chilean flag—

You know what I think?  I think it’s all part of a sinister plot by the Chileans to take over Texas.  Kind of like the one Christine O’Donnell has classified info. about with the Chinese plotting to take over the United States.

Coincidence?  Hmmmm…..

Or, it could be when the person who created the ballot saw that the flag was from Chile, maybe they thought it was the same as “chili.”  And we all know that Texas has some of the finest chili cook-offs in the country.

Well, it could have happened that way…
